Common problems

Sound familiar?

Slow drains

Water that pools in the sink or tub is a partial clog: hair, soap scum, grease or food building up in the line.

Gurgling and odors

Gurgling sounds or sewer smells from drains point to a blockage or a venting problem that's pulling air through the traps.

More than one drain backing up

When a toilet, tub and floor drain all back up, the clog is in the main line, often from roots or grease. That needs main-line cleaning.

Questions

What people ask first

Should I use chemical drain cleaner?
We don't recommend it. Chemical cleaners rarely clear a full clog, can damage older pipes and make the job dangerous for whoever opens the drain next. A cable or jetter removes the blockage instead of burning a small hole through it.
Why does my drain keep clogging?
Repeat clogs usually mean the cause is still in the line: grease coating the pipe walls, roots growing into the sewer, a sag holding water or a damaged pipe. A camera inspection shows which one, so the fix lasts.
How do I know if the clog is in the main line?
If several fixtures back up at once, or water comes up in the tub when you flush or run the washer, the clog is in the main line. One slow sink is usually just that sink's drain.
Do you offer same-day drain cleaning?
Yes, when it's available. Main line backups get priority because the house can't use its plumbing until they're cleared. Call (901) 634-0049.
