Drain & Sewer

Sewer Camera Inspection in Memphis, TN

A sewer camera inspection shows exactly what is inside your drain or sewer line: roots, cracks, offset joints, sags and blockages. You see the problem before paying for a repair, and the repair is sized to what is actually wrong.

Common problems

Sound familiar?

Repeat backups

If the main line keeps backing up after cleaning, something in the pipe is catching waste. The camera shows what and where.

Buying an older home

Many Memphis homes, especially in Midtown and East Memphis, still have original clay or cast iron sewer lines. An inspection before closing shows their condition.

Soggy yard or sewer smell

A wet, sunken spot in the yard over the sewer line, or a sewer odor outside, can mean a broken pipe leaking underground.

Questions

What people ask first

Do I need a sewer camera inspection before buying a house?
For an older home, yes. A standard home inspection doesn't look inside the sewer line, and replacing one is a major expense. A camera inspection tells you the line's condition before you close.
What can a sewer camera find?
Roots, cracks, broken or collapsed pipe, offset joints, sags that hold water, grease buildup and objects stuck in the line. It also shows the pipe material, such as clay, cast iron, Orangeburg or PVC.
Does a camera inspection require digging?
No. The camera goes in through an existing cleanout or fixture opening. Digging only happens if a repair is needed, and the camera tells us exactly where.
My line was just cleaned. Why inspect it?
Cleaning clears the clog but doesn't tell you why it happened. If roots or a broken pipe caused it, it will come back. Inspecting right after cleaning gives the clearest view of the pipe.
