Water Heaters

Tankless Water Heaters in Memphis, TN

A tankless water heater heats water only when you open a tap, so it doesn't run out and doesn't keep a tank hot all day. Flowmasters sizes, installs, maintains and repairs tankless units for homes across Memphis and the Mid-South.

Common problems

Sound familiar?

Running out of hot water

A tank empties after a few showers. A properly sized tankless unit keeps up as long as demand stays within its flow rate.

Short on space

A wall-mounted tankless unit frees up the closet or garage floor a tank takes.

Tankless unit acting up

Error codes, lukewarm water or the unit shutting off mid-shower usually point to scale buildup, a flow or gas supply problem, or a venting issue.

Questions

What people ask first

Is a tankless water heater worth it?
It's worth it if you want continuous hot water, need the space, or plan to stay in the home long enough to benefit from lower standby energy use. Upfront cost is higher than a tank, especially if the gas line or venting needs upgrading. We'll price both so you can compare.
How do you size a tankless water heater?
By flow rate and temperature rise: how many fixtures run at once, in gallons per minute, and how much the unit has to heat the incoming water. Winter groundwater is colder, so we size for the cold months, not summer.
How often does a tankless water heater need maintenance?
Most manufacturers call for flushing the heat exchanger about once a year to remove scale. Skipping it reduces efficiency, causes error codes and shortens the unit's life.
Can I switch from a tank to tankless?
Usually, yes. Gas tankless units often need a larger gas line and new venting, and electric units need significant electrical capacity. We check all of that before quoting.
