Water Heaters

Water Heater Installation in Memphis, TN

Flowmasters installs new gas and electric tank water heaters in Memphis-area homes, sized to how much hot water your household actually uses. We install to code, connect everything correctly, test it and haul away the old tank.

Common problems

Sound familiar?

The tank is leaking

Water seeping from the tank body means it has rusted through. That can't be repaired, and it can fail suddenly.

It's past its life

Most tank water heaters last about 8 to 12 years. Rusty hot water, rumbling and rising repair costs mean the end is close.

Not enough hot water

If your household has grown or you've added a bathroom, the existing tank may simply be too small.

Questions

What people ask first

What size water heater do I need?
Most two-to-three person households do well with a 40-gallon tank, and three-to-five people often need 50 gallons. The bigger factor is peak use: how many showers, laundry and dishwasher loads run at the same time. We size it to how you use water.
How long does water heater installation take?
A like-for-like tank replacement usually takes a few hours. Changing fuel type, moving the heater or updating venting and gas lines takes longer.
Gas or electric water heater?
If you already have gas to the heater, gas usually recovers faster and costs less to run. Electric is simpler to install where there's no gas line. Switching fuel types adds work, so most people stay with what they have.
Do you remove the old water heater?
Yes. We drain it, disconnect it and haul it away as part of the installation.
